This 1840's Swiss/German sewing box had missing and loose veneer. The veneer was repaired and the case was cleaned using conservation methods.
After repairs were completed the little box was polished to make it look presentable again.

A misplaced curling iron burned this quartersawn oak veneered dining
room table. After scraping away the charred wood and finish, the damaged
area was faux finished to match the rest of the table.

What looks like a wood carving on this door is actually plaster. To perform this repair I made a silicone mold of the original, cast new plaster, and colored the new work to look old.

The veneer on the top of this 1840's table was chipped and was removed when the piece was refinished years ago. Monroe Furniture Restoration reveneered the top with figured mahogany and French polished the table.

This 1870's ladies writing desk needed some repairs and a good cleaning to remove 100+ years of soot, dust, dirt and furniture polish. Twenty plus hours of cleaning revealed gold in the incised carving and a contrasting walnut and ebonized finish. The original finish was in amazingly good shape and was mostly intact.

This late 18th century English fusee movement clock was damaged in shipping, breaking the top off the clock and damaging veneer. Monroe Furniture Restoration was commissioned to clean the clock case, repair the top and revive the finish with French polish. A Golden Retriever puppy sharpened his teeth on this Black Forest carving of a fox. The fox, along with three other carvings, were repaired and restored on-site in an afternoon.

A former owner decided to "modernize" this chest by antiquing it green in the 1970's. After setting in the garage for a number of years, the new owner decided to restore the chest to its original glory.

This two drawer chest needed a good cleaning and French polishing to revive the finish. Cleaning and polishing the brasses completed the refurbishing. The work was done on-site.
