Monroe Furniture Restoration

is the culmination of a life long passion for wood working, finishing and finish repair. I started refinishing when I was 12 years old, fixing up old furniture with my father.

After years of refinishing furniture for family and friends, I became intrigued with the idea of restoring furniture by reviving the original finish and hiding scratches, nicks and other finish damage through the process of spot finishing .

After studying restoration techniques and learning the chemistry of finishing, I started reviving and repairing furniture instead of stripping and refinishing. While many pieces of furniture need to be stripped and refinished, many more pieces are perfect candidates for refurbishing and spot refinishing .
